About Guru Gobind Singh

When people hear the name Guru Gobind Singh, their minds immediately think of only one explanation: holy warriors. Guru Gobind Singh Ji a symbol of bravery and courage. He was born on December 22, 1666, in Bihar’s Patna.

His childhood name was Govind Rai, who was the tenth Sikh Guru. He was not only a spiritual master, but also a fearless warrior, poet, and philosopher.

Guru Gobind Singh was a spiritual master, soldier, philosopher, and poet. In a religious war led by the Mughal emperor, Aurangzeb, Guru Gobind Singh lost his father, mother, and four sons in a religious war.

Aurangzeb was eager to see the Islamization of Hindus and Sikhs. Because of his significant contribution to Sikhism, he was regarded by many followers as an eternal Guru.

In his life, Guru Gobind Singh fought four battles against Mughal oppression. Two Mughals murdered the tenth Guru.

After being attacked, the Guru conveyed the authority of the leadership to Bhai Banda Singh and asked him to travel to Punjab and spread the Sikh religion.  

The History of Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti

Gobind Singh’s father, Guru Tegh Bahadur, was the ninth Sikh Guru. He refused to convert to Islam and was killed. After Gobind Singh’s death at a young age, he was appointed as the tenth Sikh Guru.

He formed his army, baptised and accepted them as saints, and worked hard to protect their people from the oppression of other rulers. The Sikh Guru Gobind Singh and the Khalsa forces inspired the Sikhs to believe in the religious and political freedoms of the Mughal rulers.

People celebrate the Sikh Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti, remembering the 10th Guru. People sing devotional songs or listen to poems written by their Guru. During the celebration, children and adults share delicious sweets, soft drinks, and a variety of foods.

On this day, many special dishes are prepared that are unique to this festival. Gurudwaras make food. People pay respect to this day, regardless of a person’s religion or caste.

The devotees meet and recite Grant Grantha Sahib before giving food to everyone. Local delicacies, including tamarind dishes, Puligore, and Holige, along with a sweet, – are prepared with sour and sweet chutney on that day.

Those who serve the community and become real soldiers are far from religion. Then Guru Gobind Singh said, “Following the ideology of becoming a monk, show the hands of the soldiers who are practically sweet and courageous.” Then he said, “Holy soldier.” They became the most famous saints.

Being a holy warrior means being compassionate and not afraid. It’s not right to sit in one place without taking any action. Sitting down and accepting everything that “Oh, God is doing everything” is not correct.

If you need to stand up to protect religion, then stand up. When the country needed it most, Guru Gobind Singh guided the people. 

He was a great devotee of Kali Maa. They have been performing Chandi Homa, before each war worship of Devi Kali. He also talked about how important it is to respect the tradition of the Guru and how important it is to have a guru in your life.

He also said, “If there is no Guru in life, then this book, Granth Sahib” should be regarded as a Guru.” Knowledge is the Guru. Guru and knowledge are indistinguishable.

When knowledge becomes an indispensable part of human life, then he is the Guru. He has said all these words above, and also put forward the slogan, “Sacred Soldiers.”
