Visiting a historical site has a lot of benefits, and we can learn many things. Such visits can help us expand our knowledge of what we learn in school.

A historical trip can make the history of that particular place come alive and can be creative and educational. Kids and students can learn a lot of things from there and can also visualise the ancient times.

They can realize how an ancient civilization flourished, how people worked, their culture, the things they used, and many more.

Most of the historical sites are either deteriorated or completely destroyed, either due to war or any natural cause. Only the remains of a site are available and preserved.

Visiting these places will help children to understand deeply the time in which the site existed. One can understand, despite the hardships, how people survived and established their region.

A Visit to a Historical Place Taj Mahal

If you are in India, then a visit to the historical sites would be incomplete without visiting the Taj Mahal. Also, if you stay in any corner of the world, and love to visit historical places, then the Taj Mahal is a must-visit place. 

It is one of the seven wonders of the world and is also known as “The Crown of The World”. Built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan between 1631 to 1653, it is an immense mausoleum of white marble. More than 20000 men were put to work to complete the structure for 22 years.

It is considered a symbol of love, as Shah Jahan built it as a symbol of love for his wife, Mumtaj Mahal. It is built on the banks of the Yamuna River. The Taj Mahal is embedded in an amazing garden that has cypress trees, beautiful flowers, and even fountains in some places. 

The garden also has smooth green lawns and glowing flowers spread across it. These pretty stuffs do add to the beauty of the Taj Mahal.

The Taj Mahal is surrounded by four tall minarets made of white marble, one in each corner of the platform. From a distance, it looks small and delicate, but if we get closer to the Taj Mahal and stand near the marble steps, the dome seems so big as if it is touching the sky.

This has become a great piece of work for which our country is proud. Whenever you visit the Taj Mahal, you’ll notice that people from different parts of the world will be there to experience this wonderful place.

Each and every part of the site is very attractive, and it becomes even more beautiful in the moonlight.

A Visit to a Historical Place Murshidabad (West Bengal)

Murshidabad, a historically old place, was the capital of undivided Bengal before the British Raj. It is a rural destination home to several historical and tourist sites. It is actually a district located on the banks of river Bhagirathi. In the year 1773, the state capital was shifted from Murshidabad to Kolkata.

When we went to Murshidabad, the first place we visited was the Hazarduari Palace. As the name suggests, it is a palace with a thousand doors and was built in the year 1837 for Nawab Najim Humayun-Jah. 

We got to know that there were 114 rooms, 8 galleries, and a museum located inside the palace, and it is considered an excellent piece of architecture.

The next best attraction in Murshidabad is the Nasipur Royal Palace, which was built by the 19th-century king Kritichand Bahadur. This palace is popularly known for tax collection under British rule.

When we went there, we noticed that the palace had deteriorated and been damaged throughout the years. However, the remains of her palace have been well preserved, and hence is is one of the most popular attractions in this region.

Murshidabad’s Kathgola Palace is another amazing location in Murshidabad. This was originally the baking house of Jagat Seths, the Jain family of the region. The palace houses some rare artefacts of historical importance. One should never miss a visit to this site.

A Visit to a Historical Place Qutub Minar and Red Fort (Delhi)

A visit to a historical monument is always an exciting experience and a fascinating adventure. The Qutub Minar is one such site that has a lot to offer.

The Qutub Minar is the landmark of Delhi and one of the most prestigious monuments of Indian heritage. 

When we visited Qutub Minar, the place was already filled with visitors. One must need a tourist guide if he wants to visit the place in its entirety.

Qutub Minar is one of the tallest monumental structures in India. In the year 1119, Qutub-ud-din Aibak started its construction, but it was completed by his successor Iltutmish. It is about 72.5 m high and has 379 steps to reach the top of the tower.

Apart from Qutub Minar, there is another fascinating site located in Delhi. The Red Fort is a symbol of Mughal power and majesty. In the year 1648, the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan built it, and it is completely made up of red stone. 

Located on the banks of the Yamuna river, it is one of several monumental wonders of India. Every year, on Independence Day, the Prime Minister addresses the nation from the Red Fort. 

It is a site that we usually visit, as travel and accommodations are easier for this location. Located in central Delhi, it is a monument of utmost significance for modern Indian history.

A Visit to a Historical Place Sivasagar (Assam)

Sivasagar, a region in Assam, houses a number of historical sites and monuments. During our visit to the place, we took a bus from Guwahati to Sivasagar. There are a lot of beautiful natural scenery and tea gardens on the way.

Sivasagar is a region that is known for its tea and oil industries. However, apart from it, here are some tourist spots in the area.

Sivadol, it is actually a group of monuments that house the temples of Sivadol, Visnudol, and Devidol. Some other shrines and a museum are also located in this region.

Rang Ghar is a two-storied building that was once a sports pavilion for royal kings and nobles. From Sivasagar town, we travelled for 3 km to reach the place.

Karng Ghar is also known as The Gorgaon Palace. It is located at about 15kms from the Sivasagar town, and one has to travel by either bus or local fare to reach there. Made in 1747, the palace is surrounded by a 5km long wall that is worth seeing in this region.

A Visit to a Historical Place Golden Temple (Punjab)

The Golden Temple is a wonderful holy shrine located in Amritsar, Punjab. Its original name is Sri Harmandir Sahib, but it is more popularly known as the Golden Temple. It is the holiest place in Sikhism, and when we went there, we saw thousands of Sikhs. 

Furthermore, Sikhs visit the place on a daily basis, as it is an important place for them besides being a tourist site.

Amongst the fascinating features of this temple is that it looks alluring in its golden color. It has a glittering golden dome that makes it appear so beautiful. The entire temple is a two-storey monument. 

There is also a golden leaf of about 400 kg located on the upper half of the temple. It is the architecture of the temple that gives it a beautiful look and enhances the pleasing appearance of the shrine. 

The structure looks even more beautiful at night due to the temple’s reflection on the water.
